DAVID REID’S FAREWELL SPEECH

June 1st, we said good-bye to Professor David Reid, after more than a three-month staying, teaching Theologian English Course in our seminary. Thursday, before his leaving to Canada he had a deflexion on John 10: 1-10, at the chapel. He spoke about

The text “the good shepherd”, one of the first stories of the New Testament he recalled from his childhood. Reading it in the background of the seminary, two different images sprang: one is the teaching-learning situation and the other, Jesus’ words: “I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.”

In his deflexion, he said: “teaching-learning is the centre of the life, here at the seminary.” He emotionally added: “I am very thankful for this wonderful experience. Thank you and thanks to God.
