SET CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE STRUGGLE AGAINST HIV/AIDS

On December 9th SET commemorated the International Day for the Struggle of HIV/AIDS. This activity closed the commemorating Period for the struggle against this disease, in Matanzas.

DSC05505 a.JPGPeople living with HIV/AIDS in the province of Matanzas participated together with SET students, professors and workers. The program was organized and led by the students and had the collaboration of the guests who, upon request, brought in their hands a red piece of clothes. This was used at the end of the activity to make a huge red bow. This gesture, full of emotion and sensitivity was an expression of the awareness that all of us, as part of this problem, must make common cause and remember those that are not present today but that came before us in this endeavour.

This date is commemorates at SET since 1996 and it is aimed at people living with HIV/AIDS and it has had the collaboration of professionals of the AIDS program and relatives and friends in general. Since that date we have accompanied, this group of people especially and have collaborated with the sanatorium “Dr. Ismael Triana Torres” of Matanzas.
