We, the undersigning members of the Board of Directors of the
Association of the Theological Evangelical Seminary, its only representative,
issue the following public statement:
After a long process of fraternal dialogue among the authorities of the
Seminary, in relation with the complains submitted by the Methodist Church in
Cuba, one of the founding churches of the Seminary, regarding the permanence of
Prof. Carlos Molina, as an invited professor, we express the following:
1.
We have always been willing to address this issue and any other matters
related to the life of the Seminary, through its Board of Directors, whose responsibility
among others, is to ratify the professors of the Seminary.
2.
The Methodist Church in Cuba has repeatedly refused to deal with this
issue, not attending to three meetings of the Board of Directors.
3.
We respect the decision of the Annual Conference of the Methodist Church
in Cuba on June 2, 2006 to withdraw from our Association, which causes us a
great sorrow. We remain open to reconsider their return since we are joined by
indissoluble and affective historical bonds.
Matanzas, July 11th, 2006 AD.
